Leftover sock yarn pullover

After 20+ years of enthusiastic sock knitting, there's enough odd bits and balls to make my husband a sweater. Dozens of yarns combined in a stitch pattern from Sally Melville STYLES, a terrific stash buster book. Cowichan shawl collar with doubled yarn.

That's beautiful! When you posted about it on the mailing list, the visual I had of a sweater made of sock yarn remnant was...rather blinding to say the least. But after seeing it, I'm impressed: what you created looks so good! The yarns work very well together.

Excellent work. Very nice indeed. Not just the clever use of colour but the design of the sweater. Very well done. Be proud.

Holy Cow, this is gorgeous! I have to admit that I was expecting to see a train wreck of a sweater when I followed your Knit List post, not a piece of art!

Fabulous sweater! Congratulations - you really did a great job. It does not look like left-overs, but rather like yarn that was bought for that specific purpose.

When I first saw the sweater, I thought "you sure had a lot of blues left over". But in the close-up, I can see that there are many other colours in there as well. The amazing thing is how all the colours somehow work together, no matter what you have in the mix. It's a great learning experience about colour mixing.
It is truly wonderful. I did once do a blanket in the round with all my odds and ends. I have had the same idea of making a sweater with all my leftovers -- just never got around to it! Now I will have to.

Absolutely stunning! What was your thought process as you assembled the yarns? Reminds me of Kaffe Facett's work.
